How I Eat My Jelly Baby
June 25, 2006 on 2:04 pm | In All Drawings |As a few of you know I like to be treated as if I’m a rock star. I often ask for cheers as I come on to talk somewhere or as Don Chaffer did for me got 800 people in St Louis to chant my name, today I had a new way of feeling special and that was by a very small ginger haired boy gave me a Jelly Baby as soon as I arrived in the building. I celebrated this form of gift by drawing the various stages of eating it.
My favourite one is the second one, I think he is whistling.

Can’t believe you got a free jelly baby. I like the first one just as much as the second. What is his name?

I’m not sure Meety. I would like you to think of it. I believe that it begins with a J though as he / she has that written on their chest.

Here we are celebrating the young children coming forth and offering us babes of jell… and what did we do not long after ? yes Rob, another little child- very ginger i seem to remember - oh no that was his brother- anyway, he stood holding on to his mothers legs and shyly staring up at us whilst waiting in the queue, maybe questioning in his little mind ” who are those grown up people maybe they want to be my friend?” and Rob looked down upon him and then nudged me, pointing out the little bairns feet. He had his shoes on the wrong way round. What did we do ? We laughed out really really really loud. He looked quite horrified and hid behind his mum as she moved up the queue. Then the guilt set in. We didn’t mean to destroy all his confidence in one cruel grown up moment. Sorry little boy ….(but it was funny)

You should be ashamed… Anyway, I think he may be called Juan. (the jelly baby, not the ginger boy) Well, jelly babies must come from around the world, non?

How enlightening!
It’s always been a great worry to me as to whether I should eat head or feet first, never thought of sideways!
