Dorment Leaf
Posted by Rob | Filed under Aimie Littler, All Drawings, France

For a while now I’ve been thinking about looking as I draw again. I made a few attempts but still observational drawings from life frustrate me. They are too stagnent for my liking. However with some time away from the studio and nothing but a sketchbook and mountain air I’ve spent time redrawing my original “Conscious Reflex Drawing“. I draw as normal capturing a specific time and space and then reinterpret it. The drawing below is a redrawing of the drawing above. It’s not finished yet (as in I will redraw it again) but here is the image in progress.

I love the redraw…. it is soft and full… more complete and i feel the time.. in between.. the time you took to both be in the moment and process it .. the processing it or revisiting it … happening in the redraw… i think it will give you more peace and confidence as you explore narrative painting again.. of which i have prayed for you a few times about since we met at the flat and you shared with me your desire to pick up painting again.
