The Drawing Room & The Results

The Drawing Room 2

Drawing RoomThe first of the monthly Drawing Rooms took place today. It was attended by a very select and talented group and we all had a great time. We partnered up and based the drawings on how we perceive each other. There were a few tears but they came through giggling rather than grief. The next Drawing Room is 19th March where drawing is still meditation but we’ll be looking at the “Spaces in Between” both physical and emotional. If you’d like to attend it’s at St Luke’s Church, West Holloway and runs from 7.30 - 9.30. It costs £5 and is limited to 20. At present I have about 6 places left. Email me if you’d like to come.

Here are some of the results from the night.  Contributions from Aimie Littler, Meg Wroe and Brendan Manzies. Drawing Room Results

“I have observed a number of works which actually lead one to assume that certain people’s eyes show them things differently from the way they really are … who perceive – or as they would doubtless say ‘experience’ – the meadows as blue, the sky as green, the clouds as sulphurous yellow, and so on … I wish to prohibit such unfortunates, who clearly suffer from defective vision, from trying to foist the products of their faulty observation on to their fellow men as though they were realities, or indeed from dishing them up as ‘art’.”
Adolf Hitler, 1937.

In The End We Are All A Part Of The One Tree

In The End We Are All A Part Of The One Tree

There are times when we’ll never see eye to eye

And that you’ll always call for a stop

Or to change so that you can feel better

But maybe the change you so desire

Can come from within and then you’ll see

That in the end we are all a part of the one tree.

The Drawing Room - February 20th - 7.30pm

The Drawing Room

Art has something to do with the achievement of stillness in the midst of chaos. Saul Bellow

As part of the new Breathing Space program at St Lukes (map)I will be running a monthly drawing salon from 20th February. It costs £5 and starts at 7.30 pm. I’m limiting the places to 20 max so if you’d like to come please email me at rob@robpepper.co.uk.

So what is the Drawing Room.

The Drawing Room is a monthly salon where emphasis is put on the process rather than the end results. A place to experiment and explore for those with previous drawing experience and a place of support for those who hung up their pencils log ago and wished they hadn’t.

Every month a variety of methods and techniques will be given to show how drawing can become a form of meditation. A way of seeing rather than simply looking.

Suitable for all abilities.
