1 Line - Oxford Street

As a continuation from a couple of days ago I find myself on Oxford Street buying presents and wallpaper and sit down to have a rest and do this drawing. Challenged myself to do it all from 1 line and have to admit I look down quite a bit (it gets a bit complicated!)
You may have noticed that the drawing diary has expanded quite a lot over the last month or so. The biggest change is probably the ONLINE STORE that I now have. This is where you can buy THE COMPENDIUM (the monthly artist’s book I create) along with some lithographs of London , The Muse and Doxology. I’ve also made some t-shirts that can be purchased and sent through to you both in Europe and the US.
The Map
I played with this idea a while back but it got a bit complicated with XML files and uploading things. I found a new way to do this and it’s a lot easier for me so you can have a look at the Drawing Map to see where each drawing originated from. I’ve not gone to far back but I intend to when I find some time.
The Forum
I know by the figures that a fair few people look at the Diary but you’re all very quiet so I thought that maybe a forum might get you speaking to one another. More and more of my work is collaborative (such as the June Compendium) and I love that fact because it makes the work all the more interesting. If it doesn’t work I’ll take it off again but just an attempt to make people feel a little bit more at home.
The Newsletter
When I started the diary I didn’t expect that it would play such a big part of my artistic career. Sometimes I send out newsletters to let people know about exhibitions and offers that I’m doing so if you want to hear about them then sign up here.

After a couple of weeks in Devon to clear Antiques centres, do car boot sales and have a day on Dartmoor we find oursleves back in London. Everything is quite subdued due to the terrorist threats but most people on the streets seem quite relaxed about it all.
This drawing was inspired by 1 Line from back in June. Wondering whether I could make each item from near enough 1 line.
You can compare it to others of our sitting room - Imbolc - Travel Lite - Me Mates - Preamble
Moving On

Streets Reclaimed
July 7, 2006 on 6:54 am | In 1 Line, All Drawings | No CommentsOne year ago the area around where we live was hit by a series of bombs. I responded with a drawing which involved trying to Reclaim Our Streets. Today a series of memorial services were held in memory of those who died. Aimie and I sat on our roof at midday for the 2 minute silence pointing towards Kings Cross. Later I walked the streets in a type of walking mediatation were the marks I made were memories of this time last year. It was a cleansing process even if the final results are slightly durgy.
