Ain’t No Easy Way
March 7, 2007 on 11:04 am | In Action, Interiors | No CommentsThe Black Rebel Motorcycle Club played at the Bloomsbury Ballroom last night. It was very rock and roll with the proceeds benefitting The Truth Isn’t Sexy Campaign.
We met with Peter, Robert and Spike whilst the Devon born drummer Nick Jago was a little elusive. They are a very good live band and will be touring again in a few weeks to promote their new album - Baby 81.

Aimie and Simon 7 - 10 to Tom and Rhian.
This was the last in the first round of the Cagnoni’s table football tournament. The competition started with a storming opening game which ended 9 - 10 and that’s when I bowed out. Not quite sure which of the 16 teams won overall but it probably included one or other of the family members who had home advantage.

A drum and base evening at 2001 on Brick Lane.
Through the constant build and collapse of the music the noises let through the silence. It is the silence you can hear in a wood, despite the chatter of birds and leaves and the tree growth……… Jonathan Baggaley (On the wall of the Drum and Base club where the picture was drawn)

At Soho house. Possibly one of the worst drawings I’ve ever done. The title tells it all I think.

Back in the UK and straight off to a wedding.
When my father proposed to my mother, he found how to exist in Japan without making Tokugawa Ieyasu’s mistakes. Tokugawa’s creation of a city journey into nature left Toko with an awkward beginning point to Mount Fuji. Instead of making the difficult climb to the mountains, they were stuck with their own hills. When my father looked out the window from my mother’s apartment he didn’t see a journey from building to nature, he saw a builder’s reaction to nature. The Japanese own dramatic answer to feeling insignificant next to the Yamizo Mountains. The size of nature has been mankind’s battle since we left the caves: How do we exist next to nature’s grandeur? By creating our own nature. How then should we exist next to our own grandeur?
Mel, on one knee, became larger than every building in sight to Nancy. I admit, my father’s path was better, but my Japan is only New York, and I don’t have a girl worth me losing site of the city. I, simply, want to forget there is building in site for thirty minutes or so. I want to stay behind a locked door and exist in my own grandeur.
Knitting Nocky Noo Nar

I cheated today.
I’ve not missed a day since 12 April 2005 until today. This drawing was done on the 18th but I’m going to pretend to have done it today.
Knitting Nocky Noo Nar or as close friends call him Nicky Nocky Noo Nar (My Little Pet Lamb) is my best friend from school. We never really lived it up as teenagers prefering to stay at home and make strange little animations. We once spent a bunch of friday nights knitting scarves for ourselves and mine ended up being 12 ft long. This weekend is Aimie’s birthday and we’ve invited a group of friends done to the countryside to celebrate Fairy Style. My mum, Katie, is attempting to make a communal blanket by getting everyone to knit a square and then sew them all together. This drawing depicts Nick’s attempt at hsi square. He reminds me of the alien from Men In Black. I will publish all the photos of the weekend later.
Night Driving
June 16, 2006 on 12:50 am | In Action, All Drawings | 1 CommentI was a passenger whilst I drew this if you were wondering. I have thought about trying to do it whilst at the wheel but thought that it’s a little dangerous. Probably not quite as dangerous as the story I heard the other day of an eccentric lady who got arrested for practising her trombone when at the wheel.
