Please Don’t Kill The Mockingbird

Palm Sunday 3

This is a Redraw of a 5 year old child’s drawing of Palm Sunday. If you were unaware then you’ll see Jesus riding into Jerusalem on the back of a Donkey. I did choose to edit out the amount of droppings that the original had and I completely omitted the 5th leg that the little hoody wearing angel had depicted.

Grandmother’s Flag 2

I’m starting to work towards The State of Texas Exhibition that I have in October in Dallas. It’s concentrating on how Place is visually defined and I’m breaking down visual stereotypes through drawings. There will be a series of Conscious Reflex drawings along with Redraws. The original drawing of Grandmother’s Flag was created in October 2005 after the Doxology exhibition.

A Little Something Special

Somebody very special lives in a house like this. As the year progresses the more you will see of this upcoming adventure.

A Redraw of a good old fashioned seen pencil drawing. One of my resolutions is to try and make more portraits this year. I’m interested in what happens with how the diary is going to be shaped and as the new year starts I’m thinking about what areas I’d like to work more in. I’m even thinking of asking for requests, so if you have any then let me know.

Dorment Leaf - Preparatory Drawing

Whilst away in France last month I set about looking at some of my drawings as I drew them. I soon realised that there was still some frustration as I made marks from observation, which wasn’t there when I Redrew from a previous Conscious Reflex Drawing. So now I’m creating a body of works that are Redraws. They will transform into a larger scale artwork and this one will be a painting on canvas and also a woodcut.
