Art in Action & The Palace Of Westminster

I was asked by Damian Fennell from the Art Academy whether I would like to demonstrate at Art In Action from this Thursday until Sunday. I’ll be there all 4 days and it’s a great opportunity to meet lots of artists and speak to them about their work.

The video above is to show some of the ideas we’re working on for the 24 Hour Draw. Drawn on Feb 26 it shows a glimpse of London at Midday.

I now have a way to see the video drawings more easily and for you to share them because I’ve joined Youtube. I’m a little concerned about what might happen to the Full Lotus video now as already in 3 hours of uploading it has been viewed around 100 times.

Atop Mt Everest

April 17, 2006 on 5:49 am | In Abstract, All Drawings, Texas, USA & Canada, Video Drawings | 4 Comments

Within an hour of meeting Don Chaffer in Toronto on the 6 April he had found out that I had a very special skill. He learned in a discussion with Frank Couch (Executive Producer of all of the Voice ) that I had the ability to do a headstand. Not only can I do a headstand but I can also do it whilst in the Full Lotus position. Don then challenged me to one day to this ontop of Mt Everest whilst doing a Conscious Reflex Drawing. Not being near the Himalayas (because of course if we were then I would be straight up there) we then set about trying to find a Mt Everest in Middle America. With a week and a bus surely we could find one in the Arkansas. Sadly not.

Two days after finishing the tour whilst in Austin, Texas I pull up to our friends Christy & Andy Hodgson house noticing that they live on Everest Lane………..

The filming was done by Matt Gierhart with an excellent commentary and the full video experience can be viewed by clicking on the photo below. (I’ve had problems in the past with PC users viewing video so let me know if it doesn’t load)

I think it gets better.

I sent this video through to Don and Lori which they enjoyed. However their 2 year old son Miles liked it even more and he has sent through a response for everyone to listen to.
MILES RESPONDS

Being a Chaffer he then enjoyed the performance so much he then practiced his English accent with help from Don.

I found this one quite funny and it has the best soundtrack.

Spent the most lovely of evenings at this Schloss. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere romantic and the dragons dotted around the place beautiful.

From the Market Square in Coburg this ended up being quite Christmasy. The ipod angel gave me this song too and it all ended up being quite apt.

I have a new aspect to the drawing diary.

It won’t be everyday but just when the wind takes me and today is the first day. I’ve decided to video the drawings as they happen. It’s been a bit of a revelation to me as watching the process of lines appear on the paper is not something I’m used to.

I’m living at the National Gallery at the moment, working on drawing the images for the publication of St Johns Gospel. I borrowed Aimie’s shuffle and the song that came on randomly as I started this piece and is now the theme for the drawing was Faithless’s God Is A DJ. Great lyrics and I can’t think of a more apt song as a sound track for the place drawing has with me and my artwork.

To watch it click either click the image or click here.

I need to thank Johannes again for his technical support to help make this happen.
