From fast food joints to old men in slippers, Rob Pepper’s new series of paintings and drawings create a cultural comparison of two countries.

As part of its ongoing commitment to producing innovative and varied exhibitions, SW1 Gallery brings the exhibition by this young international artist to Victoria from 9th - 29th May. ‘To There and Back Again’ will explore Pepper’s fascination with using drawings to capture the essence of communities and includes moments from a modern day grand tour of Middle America, as well as his subsequent return to Middle England.

Comprising around 50 pieces, the exhibition will bring together the most important images from each side of the Atlantic. It will be his largest display to date, showcasing his comparative observations, processes and thoughts

Pepper will be giving an artist’s talk on 20th May 6.30 - 8.30 and will also be running drawing workshops at SW1 Gallery from 7 - 9pm on 15th and 22nd May. For more information please contact gallery manager Heidi Hazue.
